Visa Re-issue Wizard

From the information you’ve provided, you appear to be eligible to use the:

Fingerprint Reissue/ Reuse Program

Each applicant must post the following documentation:

  • Confirmation page of the completed Electronic Visa Application Form DS-160.
  • A valid passport or travel document. If your previous visa was issued in a previous, expired passport, it must be submitted along with the new passport.
  • A copy of the application fee receipt, payable online or through an Australia Post outlet. For further information regarding this fee, please refer to our fee payment information page.
  • In addition to the Application Fee, some visas and nationalities require additional fees, payable to the Consulate after the application is approved. These fees can be paid by bank checks or money order payable to “U.S. Consulate General, Sydney.” Personal or company checks are not accepted. Fees for Australian passport holders can be found on our local fees page. Ensure you check your visa category to determine if an issuance fee is applicable to your application before sending the required documents to the Consulate.
  • A self addressed 500g Platinum Express Post envelope for the return of your visa, passport and documents.
  • Other documents:

B1/B2 visa applicants: must provide a letter of explanation outlining the reasons they are applying for the B1/B2 visa.

C1/D or I visa applicants: must provide a letter of employment on the company letterhead.

F, J or M visa applicants: must provide the original I-20/DS-2019/DS-7002 and Sevis fee receipt.

E3, E3R visa applicants: must provide a copy of the Labor Condition Application (LCA)

H, L, O, P, Q or R visa applicants: must include I-797 petitions or official notifications.

Failure to provide all the required documents will delay the processing of a visa application.

Where to submit your application

Please send the above required to the Consulate serving your area.

What else do I need to Know?

Eligible candidates for The Fingerprint Reissue/Reuse Program may not require an interview with a consular officer. If you have already provided a full set of ten fingerprints, your application will be reviewed upon receipt. If you are deemed to be eligible for The Fingerprint Reissue/Reuse Program and your application documents are found to be in order, your visa will be issued. The normal processing time for nonimmigrant visas is two business days. Otherwise, the Consulate staff will inform you that a personal appearance at the Consulate will be required.

Even applicants who meet all of the requirements may still be required to attend an interview. A decision on the interview waiver is solely at the discretion of the reviewing officer.
