Passports

Each individual, regardless of age, must travel on his/her own passport.

Even though you may also hold a foreign nationality passport, U.S. laws require all U.S. citizens (regardless of age) to enter and depart the United States on a valid U.S. passport at all times. For further information please refer to Dual Nationality.

Most adult passports can be renewed by mail, but some applications require personal appearance at the Consulate General serving your area. You will be required to make an appointment.

Please read carefully information relating to supporting documents and downloading forms.

Please note that the online version of the application forms include instructions written for use in the U.S, which do not apply to applications made in Australia. Please follow specific instructions provided in the links on the left for each application.

Please do not submit your application directly to the United States. Doing so will delay processing of your application.

Please be aware that a passport may be denied in case of Child Support Arrears or Child Custody Disputes.
