The U.S. Consulate can provide limited services in cases of emergencies when the Consulate is closed. Generally, all requests for services should wait until the next working day, unless there is a true emergency. During business hours please call:

• from the United States: (011) (61) (2) 9373-9200 then press 1

The following are considered true emergencies:

• Death of an American citizen
• Loss/theft of an American passport, where travel must take place before the next working day
• Arrest of an American citizen
